Pros, Cons, & Observations Week 16: Almost Fooled us
Editor’s Note: For the Record I was never fooled. At 14-0 Patriots I gave New England 0.0% chance of winning that game. This was the trap game for Buffalo. This is the type of game the Bills lose every single year late in the season. They take their eye of the price and get undisciplined. But even the rock head lead Buffalo Bills could not be undisciplined enough for the 2024 New England Patriots. Nope, we’ll do you one better there fellahs. Have no fear. Your play off standing will not be in question against us. Pathetic.
Observation- They came to play. In the bitter cold they strapped up and surprised a Bills team in the first quarter who thought it was going to be a cake walk. They had a good game plan which translated to early success; jumping to a 14 point lead. Post game comments backed the coaches. Drake Maye did so specifically saying he feels they are building something and that he is proud to be a patriot.
Con - The coaches are unable to make the in game adjustments needed to have sustained success throughout the game. As the game wore on the Bills adjusted to what the Pats were doing. Bills come out from halftime drive down the field and score a Td. Then the fuck up flood gates open. The patriots never have a counter punch to opponent adjustments. Even with a "moral victory" result I'm still staunchly in the camp that the coaches are not good enough and are the primary reason they are losing games.
Observation- Two Things. One, Mayo looked different on the sideline. He looked agitated all game. He looked like he had something riding on this game; not his normal smug confused look. Second; the loser luck continues. Pats force fumbles they aren't able to recover. The bills recover the New England fumbles. The season long trend continues.
Con- Turnovers and Mistakes. Kendrick Bourne is a fucking asshole and should be cut. He clearly runs the wrong way in the Drake Maye interception in the end zone. ONCE AGAIN; in post-game says it was on him. Awful screen play on their own end; Maye, Jacobs and Stevenson combine for that debacle. Ramadama not to be out done with 2 fumbles however. Mapu dumbass move to get tackled on the one yard line. Main reason for losing.
